Jude is home fast asleep after an absolutely amazing stress free meet up. I am overflowing with happiness!!
I often get extremely anxious before attending dog training classes because of all the unknown factors. What if off lead dogs run up to us during class, what if there are too many people around, what if Jude doesn’t listen, what if he reacts etc.
Well today Nicky Crowe and the amazing Dog Friendly Dorset team organised the stress free meet up in a super safe space where no other people or dogs were walking, we were at a safe distance from the other gorgeous dogs in our class. Close enough for them to see each other easily, but far enough away to work with Jude under threshold. We learnt great calming techniques, raising and lowering energy, and some helpful techniques when Jude does react. He responded so well and was such a good boy! He did amazing. He is very afraid of strangers but he took to Vicky the trainer immediately, it made me quite emotional. If anyone is ummming and ahhhing about joining a stress free meet up organised by Dog Friendly Dorset, don’t be worried, go for it!!!
Thank you for organising stress free meeting for reactive dogs. We both enjoyed the class a lot! Very relaxed atmosphere and safe distance between all dogs. Neela was great at keeping boundries and focusing on me despite seeing other dogs; big and small.

Review of Dog Friendly Dorst Rescues Play Date
Hobbes the sighthound
Today we had our first Sighthound play date.
Of course Hobbes had the best time ever, getting to run with other speedy hounds is his favourite thing!
he has a pitpat activity tracker on his collar, like a Fitbit for dogs.
Hobbes is a Lurcher, almost as fast as a greyhound but seemingly having much more endurance, he needs his exercise and can be a bit needy/annoying if he's doesn't get a good walk/run, so these playdates are great for him.
The pics are when we arrived at the beach and when we left. You can see the activity chart is high up, the higher the more active (IE running fast) as you can see, Hobbes was a busy bee!
So Hobbes got a good hour or so of flat out running, then we walked a bit on the beach. This left me with a nice and tired dog who was also rather cuddly, I'm sure they appreciate a fun day out!
It's also great for socialising with other dogs and it also gives the owner confidence in their dog to play off the lead.
The tracker is a pitpat, it monitored movement, uses Bluetooth to upload to your phone and you only have to buy it, there's ongoing costs. They have just introduced a GPS version, I have no idea what that's like.
And no, I don't work for pitpat!
