Ever said the words: “I wish my dog could tell me what is wrong?”
In this talk Nicky Crowe, Dog Behaviourist and Founder of Chilled Out Dogs will talk about the most common behaviours she encounters in her dog clients and how these are often being misunderstood by the dog parents or people in the general public. Leading to further miscommunication and mishap.

Nicky will give insight from both a scientific and a holistic approach into what your dog is telling you with their behaviours. Backed by latest research from Lincoln University into the Emotional Intelligence of dogs, how to read dog’s body language and anecdotal evidence in terms of the links between diet and behaviours, Nicky will aim to give a wider and more integrative understanding of our dogs and what they are trying to communicate.
Dog behavioral issues are often misunderstood by their human parents and treated incorrectly with “obedience” type training methods.
But what if your dog is trying to tell you something with their:
the chronic barking
It is in my experience as a Dog Behaviourist and Animal Communicator that dogs have a lot to say about their humans’ emotions, stress and the environment in which they live.
Once we as humans understand our dogs as animals that have feelings, in many ways very similar to us on the emotional spectrum, we can start to help them with appropriate and sensitive behaviour training and communication.
Nicky will discuss how to treat common dog behaviours that conventional training and obedience methods are not able to resolve.
A majority of her clients come to Nicky after having seen a number of dog trainers, behaviourists and been to puppy and dog obedience classes in the past. But who have been unsuccessful in solving their dogs’ emotional distress.
Because it is not about seeing the dog as the “naughty” party. Dogs are not inherently disobedient or naughty. They are often simply misunderstood. Some of my dog clients have underlying pain issues which once resolved clear up the behaviours. Or it the human’s tension and anxiety which is directly influencing the dogs behaviour. We need to see the dog as a whole and what they are truly trying to communicate.
Once you understand what your dog is feeling it is so much easier to help them to rehabilitate behaviour or health issues.
Areas of interest that will be discussed:
-The emotional dog
-The Dog-Human dynamic
-Sensitive treatments to behavioural issues
-How to communicate with your dog
-Transpersonal psychology and your dog
-The science behind dog behaviours
-Practical methods to treat behaviour issues
-Nutrition as a key to behaviour
-The transformative effect of dog massage in helping dogs
